A Chinese delegation headed by the Vice-Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress ( NPC, China’s top legislature ), His Excellency, Jiang Zhenghua paid a 3-day goodwill visit to Tonga from September 3, 2007.
Lord Tu’iha’angana, the Speaker of the House of Tonga, warmly welcomed Mr Jiang and his delegation.
While in Tonga, Jiang’s delegation met with His Majesty King Siaosi Tupou V, the Speaker of the House Lord Tu’iha’angana and members of the Tongan Legislature, the Prime Minster of Tonga Honourable Dr Feleti Sevele and ministers of his cabinet.
This visit was the second from the National People’s Congress of China to Tonga. It will further promote the friendly cooperative relations between the two countries.
